How to sell in 4 easy steps - even before you have a product or service

Believe it or not you can use Google AdWords to start selling to people even before you have a product to sell. This key strategy allows you to set up your businesses quickly is using Google AdWords to build a huge list of potential customers before the product is created. This is a great way to confirm the success of your business idea before your website or your product are even ready!

Here's how you can implement this effective technique yourself ...

1. Create a keyword-targeted landing page

After you've done your keyword research -- using a great tool like Keyword Discovery or BeBiz or www.adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal it is now time to start attracting people who are searching with those keywords and turning them into potential leads

To do this you create a simple web page that addresses the need people are demonstrating when they type in their searches with the keywords you’ve just researched-- and provides a solution to their problem. For example, say one of your top keyword phrases is, "how to improve your sales team".

Based on this and other similar keyword phrases, you're thinking about creating an eBook that shows people how to improve your sales team. So you create a page that addresses this problem. Then you inform them that you have found the answer to this problem and you're currently putting it all together in a complete guide that shows those who are interested. Which brings us to the next point...

2. Have an opt-in box on your page where people can put their name and email address

Your landing page has to draw people in, communicate with them and relate to the problem they are trying to solve, establish your credibility, and have a ‘call to action’. A call to action is a clear invitation for your visitor to make a decision.

Normally that call to action would typically get people to purchase your product. But since you don't have a product yet, the call to action on your landing page should simply get people to sign up for more information about what you are going to provide for them.

Include a simple opt-in form that people can use to join a "first alert" list and promise them that once your product is ready, they will be the first to hear about it. Here's the really great thing about this strategy...

Not only can you use the number of sign-ups to gauge the level of interest in your product, you will also be building a list of prospects and potential who have already shown to you that they're interested in your product or service.

3. Use Google AdWords to get people to your site
Once your landing page is ready, you need to start driving traffic to it as soon as you can. This is where we start to use the Google AdWords tool. Pay-per-click (PPC) ads are simply the easiest and most effective way to send instant traffic to your website. And they immediately help you to see if your approach: ads, your salescopy, offer is working.

I would suggest that you sign up with Google AdWords and begin to create a minimum of around 12 ad groups of your main keywords (the ones you have already identified). This will give you the best chance to test how effective your keywords are initially. Then you can begin to build, develop and tweak your salescopy appropriate to how well your keywords and phrases are performing. You will know this if you use the Google Analytics feature within Google Adwords. You’’’ be amazed at the kind of information this can give you.

Now set yourself a budget of between $10-15 per day to start with. The more traffic you have coming to your website, the bigger your list is going to be when you launch your product or service. That means the higher your sales conversions are likely to be.

4. When your product is ready send an email to your list

When your product is eventually ready, you will already have a hungry list of people waiting for it to appear. Remember your list have ‘raised their hands’ they have said that they want to know more by opting in to your list. So all you have to do now is send them an email and tell them that the solution they've expressed an interest in and have been waiting for is ready... then sit back and watch the orders start coming through.

So that’s it!... In four easy steps you can begin to build a huge list of hungry buyers even before you have a product or service to provide

This strategy can either prove to you whether your product or service will be a success, it will also allow you to find out what people want before you even create a product or service. Yes, before you have gone to the huge expense of creating or developing your BIG IDEA you can know fairly cheaply whether people will want it as well as how you should develop and provide it.
